The VP of Sales/Engineering is accountable for the success of the commercial process as measured by Orders Received and Gross Margin.  Strategy’s to achieve related corporate goals are developed and implemented in conjunction with the Leadership Team.

The following essential functions are the critical duties an employee must be able to perform either unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accomodation.

 

·        Marketing and Communications:

Manage all TAM materials, images and likeness in the marketplace.  Representative activities include: Maintaining the company website, printed materials and electronic information intended for distribution.  In addition, identify, propose and develop new materials as seen fit to achieve overall business goals.

 

·        Business Development:

Define target markets and strategies to acquire new business in accordance with overall corporate objective.  This includes development of new accounts as well as increasing share with existing accounts. Report all pertinent activity and maintain a high quality sales funnel thru purchase order model.

 

·        Account Management:

Develop and implement a cohesive strategy around account management including understanding/quantifying customer expectations, monitoring customer satisfaction, developing strategic alliances, developing pricing/discounting models, leading issue resolution activity and assuring proper customer follow-up.

 

·        Quote Management:

In alignment with the overall business goals, assure customer expectations are being met throughout the quoting process.  This includes oversight of the overall quoting process to assure that lead time, quality and margin expectations are being met.  Assure the resources of the quoting team are used in an effective and efficient manner promoting a continuous improvement environment. ·        Commercial to Operation Implementation/Integration:

In alignment with the overall business goals, assure customer expectations are being met from PO receipt through hand-off in the shop. This includes but is not limited to assuring the process and all resources are in place to effectively/efficiently take information used at the quoting stage and make it ready for use in/by the shop.  Key insights into customer expectation particularly with respect delivery must also be provided. 

 

·        Reporting/HR/Administration:

As required, report on the status of the Sales Funnel w/key drivers, Quoting Activity, Orders Received and Gross Margin.  Monitor progress towards individual team member goals and mediate/ manage discrepancies. Conduct/Support performance reviews of all reporting team members on an annual basis. Assist in the collection process where applicable as well as other customer interfaces not part of day to day business activity where broad account impact is anticipated.

 

Candidates must have +10 years experience in the same or equivalent role within a manufacturing organization.  Four year degree required with emphasis in a technical field such as engineering desirable.  Ideal candidate would have an advanced degree such as a MBA or equivalent. Additionally candidates must have a fully functional understanding of the sales, quoting and manufacturing in order drive the commercial process from prospecting through integration into the shop.
